There is quite a problem regarding who is gonna be the next president as there is no one willing to take over. Usually its the vice that takes over but this time it so happened that the vice is leaving the country and am already graduating, so there need to be someone else. So is there any university student willing to take up the presidentship? If not then i fear i will have to end this club if no one is interested. So people do give your opinion and help if you all want it to continue. Or anyone willing to take over do let me know (it must be a university student). You can mail me at feeliwu@hotmail.com thanks for your co-operation.

This is front page news!! Draft up a Want Ad and we'll put it up on the main page. Also make a flyer that people here can download and pin up on notice boards in all the universities. That might help. |

| how abt ally?? [;)] |
| roger |
| Haha @Edward, it ain't a easy job.
I think it would be favourable for someone close to Taipei, and someone in the 2~3 year, because they have to go to the Overseas dept to apply for grants.
Now, I've been hearing a lot of new students going to Taiwan every year, where did they disappear? No one is going to volunteer, I think the present Pres should ring up and kinda persuade the candidate to join, like we did in our days. [:)]

I thought presidential election was done during graduates' farewell outing/lunch. I'm not sure what happened this time but it's sure tough to find a new president (considering that the new candidate's got to be living near tpe n it's vicinity). How abt putting a vote up here on wowchinese with the names of the candidates?

Yes it is usually done during the farewell lunch but this no one turned up except one graduate student, the vice and myself.

So the people outside taipei cannot be the candidates >?
|
| juditans |
Hi formosa,
As Alice had mentioned, the president would hv to go to taipei to apply for grants. If they live in other provinces, it'll be very difficult for them to find time to do it given busy schedules for attending classes and work.

Hi Alice,
It's not necessary for the President to be a 2nd or 3rd yr student. Even a Freshman can be President. It's happened b4 (I think in 1995 or 1996).... so u cud consider that or end the club.

| My 2 cents worth.
If you are in a hurry, then ring up those prospective people, those who have participated before, surely you have their phone numbers, i've seen the pic you uploaded here, and gently *persuade* them.
Or, arrange the orientation, ring up a few ppl to join, and ask them to spread the word, thus saving your phone bills. Ppl wont' join just by seeing it posted here, they need some push, [:(] And then pick a candidate during the orientation.
Forget about some "election", we aren't Malaysian-Chinese where you literally see tens of candidates vying for a seat. [:)]
Sorry I dont' have "names" for a candiate but you get the general idea.
Hope it helps.

I did of course tried what u guys suggested, and no one is willing thats why i came in here for help. I dont think the freshman can do it coz they dont know anything. At least one 2nd or 3rd year student must be the president and a freshman can be the vice. As i had mentioned that the present vice-president is leaving taiwan so we need both a president and a vice-president.

| Yes chingobabe looks like someone who is active and smart. Who can get things done.
Question is she a unviersity (4-year) student? She is in Shih-Ta though. |
| formosa |

I think jeremy won't be coming to taiwan n chingobabe will be in the 4th yr ....
So the most suitable candidate is Jeremy's bro Jeffery .....[^]
cos he is the second year student n plus he has been in taiwan for a couple of years...[=D>]
