If you guys have read my earlier post about how Chinese are good for gymastics and diving only and how they can't compete with blacks in atheletics, well I am wrong.
Just two days back, I was reading the Aug-9th edition of Time-Asia in the library, an article titled
"Breaking Away Asians can't sprint? Two world-class athletes are determined to disprove that stereotype"
You can see the online edition at http://www.time.com/time/asia/magazine/article/0,13673,501040816-678689,00.html
quote: No universally accepted scientific study has proven conclusively that Asians have significantly less capacity than blacks or whites to develop fast-twitch muscle fibers, which help create speed. And what one person believes to be a physical impediment might, of course, be more of a psychological barrier. After all, the Chinese are perennial Olympic favorites in weight lifting, a sport that clearly depends on energy and power. And yet the notion that Asians can't sprint remains widespread
Yes I trust scientific findings, but I just thought they were weaker (perception) like Yao-Ming.
Well now China's Xiang Liu equalled Colin Jackson's world record of 12.91 seconds to win the Olympic men's 110m hurdles.
Way to go, way to go, just beaten a black guy.
