I was at the Habitat Centre on Lodi Road on Monday attending a recital by Kumkum Dhar, one of the leading lights of the Lucknow school of Kathak. If anyone likes Kathak, I took a shakycam of her and uploaded it to the video section. You can download it at http://www.chineseindian.com/kumkum.avi It's in DivX.

| hey jen didnt we learn it in school...i always managed an A..not cos i danced well..cos its just one of the steps u got to show. in the final test....but sure those eyes movements can make our eyes grow bigger..lol...i find the odyssi and kathak very very interesting..the movements are so rapid and such elegance and grace...it can have u gapping at the dancers ability to make those moves... |

yeah right, i had done bharatnatyam too..and it hurts, esp when we do it for the first time but it gradually becomes all right as we keep practicing it ! |
