I guess Indians would laugh at the "threat perception," having been used to a lot more goonda-gardi in India. But the press is making Scarborough out to be a mafia town! Why don't they let up on the Scarborough-bashing stories?? It's not like it'll improve our lives, being called an "unsafe neighbourhood."
It's like they're trying to make us feel bad for living in Scarborough. And the way people talk of Scarborough as a crime-infested slum is totally media-hype! Downtown's a lot more criminal. And the biggest of them are sitting in Queen's Park and City Hall! Why doesn't the press pick on someone their own size? Are they afraid they'll fight back?  |

| actually, it happens alot, not just in scarborough, but also in north york and others
but the media is also always trying to hit the bad stuff which will bring in more attention. Not that i dont want ppl to be aware, but cant u tone it down on the violence stories and put in a bit of success in it?
