Original Thread: High Court rejects panblue challenge to election

The high courts has turn down the challenge to Ah-Bians election.

Lien Chan is planning to appeal.

Should he ?

I say concede like Kerry. It will look good with the public and probably the pan-blue will do better in coming legislature elections.

Continuing with the appeal will make him look like a sore-loser.

And I think Lien-Chan should step down, he doesnt' have the personality, give the Ma-Li-Zhiang trio the time and chance to stand for presidency, then the pan-blue has every prospect of getting back the executive power.

Comments please?

Another bloody waste of tax payers money and time.. Why don't the two old farts just RETIRE ? They already have enough money and property to take care of ten generations after them. What they want is just a "name" President.. Why not hand it over to some younger talented people in the party instead of just making weird comments on the press everyday. By the time the appeals are over Ah Bians second term will also be over !!!!! It only looks like an International joke.. These old farts should learn a lesson or two from India's Sonia Gandhi... From my point of view the Greens should win the majority of seats in the coming Legislative Elections and then we shall see what they can really do.. With the situation now, there is no solution or passing of any new Bills becos the pan blue farts are blocking it.. Might as well hand everything over to the Greens and sit and see if they are really up to it and then fight it out again in the next Elections instead of making themselves look like sore losers. Ma on the other hand is just popular in the North.. In the South he got no appeal.. So there isn't any good fella in the Blue camp who can really take over. In Taiwan, if you want to win you have to win over the hearts of the people in the South too.

The situation they are facing are just like the Democrats in the states. The pan-blue need some political star from the 'Southern States'. How about the Speaker of the Legislature?

Sad but true, the South is a BIG mass of Green !! That is the main problem.. The Blues didn't make themselves very prominent in the South. When it comes to voting day, nearly 95 % of the Southerners turn out to vote while the people in the North and the Big cities prefer to stay at home and take a day off because they don't want to stand for hours in line in the polling booths and also hard to find a parking space. They prefer to stay indoors and sleep and watch the elections on TV.. While in the South the space is very big so people find it convinient to come out to vote and hang around the polling booths meeting old friends and relatives.. So, voters turnout in the South is more compared to the North.. This is one of the reasons the numbers tilted towards the Green side when the South votes were being counted in the end. Speaker Wang Chin Ping ? He would be another puppet in a string like Hong Kong's Tung Chee Wah.

I think Wong is no puppet. He is one smart politician. He is keeping all options open. I would not be surprised if he join TSU when the election result is not in blues' favor.
