Nowadays I can see we people are indulged in so many activities that there is hardly any time to sleep. I feel that I personally lack sleep. Sometimes this leads to me staying up overnite without sleep either play games, watching movies, going to pubs, brushing up for class or work the next day, surfing the internet, there are many more but the main point is sleeping 4-5 hours a day is quite hazardous what do u all think- How many hours of sleep is necessary?

How old are you? At <25, you're probably okay if you need to cram for exams. Staying up playing games, though... that's hazardous. Try reading a good book instead.

i sleep for 2 to 3 hours mostly. hehe... maximum 4-5 hours. have a glass of warm milk b4 sleep. maybe dat would help but not to me.[:p]

i owe myself hours of sleep, i dont get any sleep, too many projects and assignments, man, IB is so hard

it depends very much on the enviorement which u are present in ...like in cal where it is hot ,humid and polluted u def need much more sleep than where it is cool and plesant...coz pollution and temperature increase your fatigue level

Experts say that infants sleep most of the day about 14 hours. Children require at least 8 to 10 hours a day and adults about 8 hours should be enuff. As one grow older, the less sleep he/she requires ( I dont know about this, but personally, as I grew older, I think I required much more than 8 hours )..... I can only sleep about 5-6 hours from Mon to Fri and I make up for that loss of sleep in the weekends by sleeping at least 12 hours straight......wish I was Rip Van Winkle and sleep for 20 years!!!!!

it all depends on the type of work and activities you do ! heavy work/load .. more sleep ... most people say that a sleep for 8 hrs should do for one who does average amount of work ... as for me, 6 hrs of sleep is enough in weekdays ... and at weekends .. lol [:))]dont talk about it ... i hardly sleep [:D]

People with depression/sadness will always sleep longer and they feel lethargic the whole day. If you are inside in a dim room, you tend to be sleepy too. So brigthen the lights while studying.

i used to sleep at around 10 before when i was in india....latest was by 12...he he he he.....nowadays dont talk about it.....i take my bath at 11-12,so you can imagine when i sleep....getting dark circles now.....lol...[:-<][=((]

the answer is 7 hrs atleast..and the notion of i can make up for my sleep by extra hours of sleep later is totaly wrong..dont worry u aint suffering from insomnia thats when u dont get continuos 100 hrs sleep..and another advice if u cant get continuos undisturbed sleep try taking a nap in between ..it helps u stay fresh ..and its not about individual ..to individual ..we have the same biological needs and demands..so atleast 7 hrs at ur age is a must..i aint no doctor but sure did some reading on it so know a little..anyways i hope u sleep well..[:D]
