do u think u need a strong authorithy single party communist govt who doesnt respect human rights like dat of china to bring about a change in indian society n attitude....or indian democracy wit its legal franchise (multi party n vote)system will overcome all corruption n neglects n become a super economy over da long term?
e.g china wanna make a dam it does so....3 gorges dam...a huge achievement displacing millions witout a wimper. while india wana make dam n various political parties storm parliament and arundhati roy comes out as a champion of da poor n tribals and sues da indian govt?

and abt da british...da only they cared for was britain....and their groupies who helped them ran india.... ppl sya it becmae bad coz then 70% of da poor india now got equal rights... da rights to live wit dignity n in da cities... democracy gave eveyr1 equal chance... u jus cant hide da 70% of india who lives below da poverty line... u gota go forward wit them...coz well dats our india? |

| India's not really a democracy. The max. no. of MPs come from UP and Bihar, and they're there because of large-scale booth-capturing. As for the others, the electorate doesn't seem to take issues seriously.
For that matter, you don't need a dictatorship to impose discipline. A democratic government can be very authoritarian too, like Singapore.
To me, it's all about quality of leadership. A good leader raises a country up, a bad leader sinks it. How they got into their postions may be a secondary issue. |

THE ADVENT OF BJP SIGNALS HINDU CHAUVINISM AND REGIONAL GROUPINGS. NOW, NATIONAL POLICIES ARE FORMULATED AFTER THE CONTRADICTORY PUSH AND PULLS OF COALITION PARTNERS. BY THE TIME THEY ARE PUT INTO FORCE. TIMES HAVE CHANGED THE POLICIES BECOME IRRELEVANT.
CHINA HAS SUCCEEDED WHERE INDIA HAS FAILED. THIS IS UNDENIABLE. THE FUTURE WILL OFFER NEW CHALLENGES. IT IS TO BE SEEN WHETHER CHINA CAN STAND UP TO THOSE CHALLENGES.
SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO MAKE SACRIFICES FOR THE SAKE OF WHOLE COMMUNITY, SOCIETY AND NATION.
