"Indian engineers arrive to help boost tech research"
"TECHNOLOGY EXCHANGE: In a joint project with India, a total of 40 experts will work here to help enhance the nation's high-tech research and development capabilities"
Dont you think they should do more high tech research in their own motherindia??
WEll, at least Indians are getting some recognition here in Taiwan |

| To compete, a country must lure the best talents, domestic or foreign, one reason why USA is so technologically advanced.
Taiwan already knows that, too bad the main language medium is still chinese and the cross-strait tensions prevent them from hiring mainland chinese. The computer companies have been lobying the govt to increase the quota of mainland chinese working in Taiwan.
The ROC embassy in Malaysia have been conducting exhibitions in high schools to lure the local chinese talents.
My professors and the Taiwan public in general, had always admired the Indian and Chinese, the frequency at which they win the Maths or Physics Olympiad stuns them.
So it is not a suprise as a news. It only means you will see more of these Indians in Tsinghwa University night market ordering 'chi-bhais' and using hand expressions to say they want it cutted.

Chi-Bhais: Chi = Chicken; Bhai = Piece (Literally translated from Chinese). It is actually chicken breast deep fried in oil to a crispy golden brown. It's a delicacy here in Taiwan. Tastes really good when sprinkled with lots n lots of chili powder [=P~]
Chota Chela, Ustaad, Purana Khiladi, Dada and Naya Murga ---All these are hindi words.....Hmmmm, so I guess you aren't born in India [:-?]
Anyway, Chota Chela = Means "Small Fry/boy/lad" or "A Freshman" i.e Someone new to this forum who hasn't made 20 or more posts.
Ustaad = Means "Boss" or someone with great influence or power. Refered here in this forum to someone who had made a lot of posts (200+).
Purana Khiladi = Means "Old Player". Here old does not mean someone who is 70+ years old. It just means this guy has been in this forum for quite some time now (100+ posts).
Dada = Means "Big brother". Again, this is just a quip used by the Admin to mean that this person is pretty well known in this forum.
Naya Murga = Means "New Chicken" . Here it means someone who has just newly been initiated into the forums and basically a "baby face". Hasn't made at least 10 posts as such and we should guide him. Ragging would be much better [:))]
Hope this helps!!! |
