Weddings and funerals are good Hakka-spotting occasions. But yeah, if you just want to catch us in our natural habitat [:D] , can't think of better place than Timmy's. Unless it goes into new management and they chuck everyone out if you don't buy anything within 30 mins [:p] . |

U also might check out restaurants like Fredrick's hakka restaurant....the owners are hakka...other rests. too. |

Yup, except for the owners and staff... i doubt hakkas visit that restaurant at all... Most hakkas tend to go to Imperial Garden (if i'm not wrong)

| Its true that we dont find a lot of Hakka people or say Indian chinese people going out to restaurants often. If they know how to cook they might as well cook at home. And the food taste much better than those we get in the restaurants. |

| I really dont care abt bumpin into hakka ppl, or any other chinese ppl for that matter.
I was delivering newspaper one day when i walked to a mailbox of a house with the number 24.
I opened the mailbox which had squeak, then a woman had started to yell at me and u had no clue.
Thats why i couldnt care less if i bumped into chinese ppl or not.
As long as they dont bark at me like the dogs do.
Ohh..those dogs...lets not even go there. |

It's very disconcerting that very few Hong Kong Chinese people ever smile or greet you on the road, even if you're neighbours.
And sometimes you just feel like shouting at them that the official languages of Canada are ENGLISH and FRENCH!!! Don't they know ESL is FREE? So why the heck don't they get with the program?? Why do they presume every Chinese-looking person speaks THEIR dialect of Chinese, anyway??
Chinese of other places seem more friendly than Hong Kong Chinese. Of course, there are some exceptions among HK people too, but it seems the rude HK people are most prevalent.
In terms of friendliness among the Chinese I've met, I'll say the most friendly are Jamaicans, followed by Singaporeans/Malaysians, Indians, and Mainlanders in that order. HK-er's come a distant last. |
