I am just wondering what do others think about the quality of our posts here.

Personally, I feel it is badly written, full of grammar mistakes, beating around the bush, bad english, no paragraph constructs, and most of all no quality information shared.

I am a regular reader of forum like webhostingtalk.com and all of the posts there are witty, short, easy to read, well written and well-informed.

I guess we're more used to the chatroom than forum and we're bringing those mores here. A chatroom typically consists of short replies that aren't normally substantive. It's also a lot more informal and fun [\:D/]. So maybe we need to undergo some basic forum training, eh, Rog? Like how babies are trained to use the appropriate places in the house for their... various activities. [:p]

umm imho i think that its not that after all also.coz in this modern world with sms we are always bombarded with all the short form and thus... Regarding thr quality of information dispense i feel that when the topic dosent ask for any information .how cane the poster share any info then?? But yes when a person request any info in the forum they seldom get the require information

unlike other ppl posting in otherwebsites...msot know each other here...n hence doesnt really care to impress...or care abt small mistakes n goes on arnd in a casual manner n attitude...

SMS has the limit of 60 charcter, so you must learn the text-messaging language for SMS. But there is no such limit in forum posts, continuing such habit will not help in your presentation, but I understand others point of view. [:)] I realised when I used to, almost second naturally, to use short-forms to write my school report. All I know I want my post to be enjoyed by others and I know badly written replies decreases interest quicker, atleast in me. Therefore.... [:I]

I find the lack of correct english and vocabulary to be rather amusing but it does make a person wonder at the same time. But Roger has a point. There is nothing interesting that I've read so far...but then in defense, I didn't go through all of them. Some of the postings are kinda "fluff", insubstantsial so to speak. And I disagree with vin_diesel there. The familiarity amongst the users is not an excuse for the bland contributions on the forums here.

Don't mistake 'Freedom of Speech' with 'Quality of Speech'! Jenny, when we go out for dinner, I can't tell you to keep shut, you got your 'freedom of speech', but surely you want me to pay attention, and that is where 'quality' comes. [:X]

Hi all ... this is my first time writing in this site ... i heard great things about the friendly environment here ... but it did not seem to have turn out so, it really makes a difference in what people say and what it actually is. Just a few days back i had used my friends id, with her permission ofcourse, just to have a look at what this site is all about ... it looks great ... but unfortunately some horrible forum posts have brought this site down ... I was utterly shocked when i read that !! is that what you'll post about majority of the time ??? if its so ... then i'm sorry to say that this is not an ideal site ... quite degrading and down to the earth ... !

Equations that have a solution are a tiny subset of all existing equations; most don't have solutions... Smooth flow is just one instance of turbulent flow... You okay there Eddie? As for the "degrading" posts, I am not even gonna get started. If I do, the admin or whoever will be deleting a lot more of my posts.
