Another raging issue in Canada....Da PM Paul Martin is all but certain to legalise same sex marriage.....marriage now wud be defined as a union between one human/person to another human/person...as against a union between a man and a woman........religious groups are fighting tooth n nail...including da pope showing his displeasure at it....even a moron like bush thinks its not right....but eveyr person has their rights...to choose to live by their own terms....?

| I think this "same sex marriage" is disgusting ...
its defying the laws of nature .....
someday humans will start binding with animals as their partners .
this is a threat to males .... because science and research made it possible for a female to reproduce without a male ... but the opposite is not possible .... [:0] .... |

Why do Gays want the term marriage?
Marriage is suppose to Husband and Wife!
Not Husband and Husband!
Why do they want to change thousands of years of history?
Why don't these Gays just make a new term for their, "coupleing" to be offical?
Lets call it Garriage or Lesbianage.
Everyones happy.[:(] |

There's going to be a March for Marriage at Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Saturday, April 9. Since it's being organized by the Catholics of Toronto, I guess you can walk into any Catholic church and inquire about it if you'd like to go. My church, for e.g., charges $20 for the bus, going and coming. Pretty good... I've not seen Ottawa before. [:p] Here's the link:

In case the news has changed, here's the full text:
quote: March for Marriage
Jointly organized by several advocacy groups aiming to defend the traditional definition of marriage, The March for Marriage will be held on April 9 (Saturday) from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Up to 100,000 are expected to attend. In addition to religious groups, representatives from different ethnic minority groups will also be participating. Pope John Paul II made this very clear: Same-sex marriage laws violate God's laws.
Toronto's Archbishop, Cardinal Ambrosic, encourages parishioners to participate in this rally. In his open letter to Prime Minister Martin, Cardinal Ambrosic suggested invoking the Notwithstanding Clause in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms which would give Canadians five years to study and debate the issue.
Our parish's Pro-marriage Ad Hoc Committee has been hard at work. In addition to teaming with the other three Chinese parishes to form the Toronto Chinese Catholic Task-force (known as TCCT for short), it has also joined with other religious and ethnic groups to host a news conference to promote the March for Marriage rally.
Our parish has reserved two coaches and we welcome parishioners and non-parishioners alike. The cost is $20 per person. Free donations are welcomed to make up the shortfall. I want to extend special thanks to the Pro-marriage Ad Hoc Committee members. Their efforts will not be in vain. May the Risen Christ live among every family in our parish.

Sure! The majority of gays are against Bill C-38. It's only a very, very small minority who're pushing it... and most of them are sitting in the Supreme Court of Canada. [:(!] |

Why would the homosexual community be against this bill? Doesn't make sense.
@Edward >> would you please enlighten. |

Can't speak for all of them... Each person has his or her own reasons for not supporting the bill, but the non-supporters are in the majority. After all, homosexuals are intelligent people too (maybe more so than the general population [*-:)]) and they'll have arrived at the same conclusion that activism only hurts their cause. |

If it were that simple, everything would be fine, but the gay activists keep forcing their view on everyone else, and when rational, loving people try to even debate in a friendly manner, the activists scream "human rights violation" and end the debate right there. [V] People are sick of it. There's a lot of anger against them now, which has nothing to do with their homosexuality, but their dictatorial attitude. [:(!] |

| Arent you doing the same? [:I]
I mean forcing your views just because a group of gays has certain ways of expressing themselves?? [>:P]
Some gays would like to keep a low profile too and be at peace with their brethren. [:)>-] |

What do you mean "doing the same?" Have you even read my post?? [8-|] My view is that everyone should be allowed to participate in the gay marriage debate, including religious groups.
I've never said that I am against gay marriage. Just to make it clear:
I AM NOT AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE.
However:
I AM AGAINST SUPPRESSING FREE SPEECH BY INVOKING "HUMAN RIGHTS" ARGUMENTS AT THE SUPREME COURT.
I hope this makes my position clear. [#-o]
So the corrolary is:
SAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH. DEFEAT BILL C-38. |

My references were based on the comments that you posted above. You did not show much sympathy either and I believe "there is no smoke without fire" , infact on the contrary its people with such attitude that do not let them live in peace and hence they are compelled to such behavior. [>:P]
Anyways I didnt mean to accuse you and you are free to express your views. Whatever it may be. [:)>-]

Dutyfree, next time, before you jump to conclusions, why don't you ask me for the facts? What did I "not show much sympathy" for? Gay marriage? You concluded that yourself. I never said I'm against it.
I had nothing to say about the whole issue until recently and I still don't! What happened was, a Catholic bishop published a newsletter saying the church doesn't support gay marriage. That's fair. That's what his boss at the Vatican says, anyway. Instead of debating him, the gay activists filed a complaint against him at the Alberta Human Rights Commission and now he's facing trial.
When everyone who speaks against an issue automatically goes to trial, I'm worried about the future of free speech in Canada. That's totally fascist and all right-thinking people should condemn the activists for their dictatorial attitude.
Now... where did the issue of gay marriage come in? It's only incidental to my protest.
There are the facts. Now comment. |
