Been away for 5yrs now and I hear there a lots of new restaurants. The ones i still remember are :
Flora, Kimfa, Kafulok, Kimling, Marlboro, 5-Star, Nanjing, Lee Garden, Lily's Kitchen, China Haus, Fulim.
Which are the newers ones? Perhaps I shall sample all of them when I get the chance to go back.

| Hah! Man, the darwaan are like those madames on the streets.. you know, like whore houses.. call in for customers! I mean it! That was how it was a month back.. Too much competition.. lolz.. I suppose business was good during the pujas though.. |
| phil77 |
| do the darwaans get $commission per customer?
And what do they yell out at 'clients' in a car ?
I've seen customers park their cars in front of a restaurant, the darwaan is all smiles, direct them in parking, salaams them, opens their car-door, and zooom they go to the other rest....
i don't think the parking space in a street is reserved for that particular restaurant.

| What you mean by 'Authentic Chinese Food' ?
First; chili-chicken, lolipop chicken, 'thai'soup, pepper chicken, aka weird names, are not authentic chinese food. These are easy attempts by the tangra chinese with garlic&chillies to suit the indian taste-buds.
I think the authentic chinese foods are those that are served at weddings; like sao-mai, mushroom soup etc.
And you need real skills to cook these 'authentic' foods, there is some standard of quality in these foods, the right texture, the right oil to have that smoothness in the mouth. NOT EVERY JACK & JILL CAN COOK IT.
I am not a food-critic, I eat anything spicy.
But my dad says Kafulok and to some extent Chung's are the best. I am talking about the food specially cooked by the boss, and not the ones cooked by their Indian cooks when you go to their restaurants.
I wonder if any of you did really eat these delicacies. The problem with organising chinese festive lunch is the orgraniser has to do business with the restaurant with the same surname as his.
So, the one with a surname that is same as a bad resturant's is stuck with bad food.
Luckily I am Chen.
